Job Description – Site Inspectors (Junior, Intermediate & Senior) – Toronto

The site inspector is a key member of the contract administration team. The site inspector will be responsible for all day to day site activities related to projects and oversee the contractor and their works. Keep the Client PM and Project Coordinator up to date on all activities and highlight any items that could have a cost or schedule implication.

Primary Duties

  • Site contact with contractor, client, municipality, approval agencies
  • Inspect, measure, document, provide field direction
  • Co-ordinate with Client PM and Project Coordinator
  • Co-ordinate with other site professionals (geotechnical, OLS, environmental, structural, fluvial, etc.)
  • Prepare and submit all DSEL field reports to Client PM
  • Day to day monitoring of project schedules
  • Organize construction meetings including preparation of agenda and minutes
  • Prepare cost sharing claims and submit to the Client PM
  • Apply for client security reductions
  • Review and recommendation of progress certificates
  • Preparation of as-built drawings
  • Assumption co-ordination and clean up
  • Quantity takeoff and tender preparation (time permitting)
  • Responsible for DSEL response to emergency situations
  • Responsibility for conformance with all approvals
  • Responsible for meeting deadlines as assigned and agreed
  • Provide detailed descriptions in timesheets for all time based work
  • Compile as-built data / info for verification of earthworks

Job Requirements

  • Graduate Engineer & CET
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid Class G driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
